Frequently asked questions

Practical information for referral sources.

These answers describe the general referral process. They do not replace a case-specific conversation, engagement agreement, legal requirements, or independent credential verification.

Who may make a referral?

The practice is designed for appropriate professional referral sources, including courts, attorneys, agencies, and systems of care. The appropriate referral pathway depends on the requested service and authority for the work.

How do I know whether a request is a fit?

Begin with a focused, non-confidential inquiry. The practice will consider the referral question, role, scope, potential conflicts, qualifications, jurisdiction, records, timing, and current capacity before accepting an engagement.

Can I send case records through the website?

No. Please do not use general website communications to send protected health information, clinical records, or sensitive case documents. Secure transfer instructions are provided after fit has been reviewed.

What should a referral question include?

A useful referral question identifies the issue to be evaluated, the intended user of the work product, relevant authority or order, timing needs, known records, and any required deliverable or testimony expectation.

Are reports and opinions confidential?

Confidentiality, privilege, release authority, and report recipients depend on the type of engagement, applicable law, court or agency requirements, and the written engagement terms. These limits are clarified before work begins.

Does the practice provide emergency services or treatment?

No. This website is not an emergency or crisis resource. If there is an immediate safety concern, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource.
